Sautéed Shishitos Peppers

Eating shishito peppers is like playing roulette. 1 in 10 shishito peppers are hot so are you ready to face the fire 🔥? Who will get the hot one and how hot will it be? It’s really anyone’s guess.

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 8 oz Shishito Peppers

Instructions

Step 1: Rinse and dry shishitos.

Step 2: In a bowl, add shishitos and coat with olive oil*.

Step 3: In a sauté pan** or cast iron skillet**, add peppers and cook them over medium heat for 10-15 minutes. You’ll want enough surface area for an even layer. The peppers should char and blister in places.

Step 4: When they're done, toss peppers with salt and pepper (flake salt* is the best seasoning) and a squeeze of lemon for freshness.

Step 5: Serve hot and enjoy!

** These are the brands that we swear by. Any cast iron pan will do you well if you season it and love it. On the sauté pan front, Demeyer is our go-to. Not all non-sticks are the same. Remember to never use metal utensils!
